Airbus A320 Series Emergency Equipment

Cabin Equipment

• AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is available on Airbus A320, A321, and A321NEO aircraft.
• AED is located in the AFT OHB, A/C Right, secured in a bracket with a pin, and sealed with a tamper-evident seal.
• AED is used to assess a patient's heart rhythm and administer an electrical shock through the chest wall to the heart.

Infant Life Vest

• 15 Infant Life Vests are available on Airbus A320, A321, and A321NEO aircraft.
• They are located in the AFT OHB, A/C Left, in a plastic bag, and secured in a brown burlap bag.

Life Raft

• Life Raft is available on Airbus A320, A321, and A321NEO aircraft.
• A320 has 1 Life Raft, A321 has 2, and A321NEO has 1.
• Life Rafts are secured with belts.

Survival Kit

• The purpose of the Survival Kit is to equip each Slide/Raft with critical survival and signaling equipment.
• There are 4 Survival Kits on each aircraft, located in the FWD and AFT OHB, A/C Right and Left.
• The kits are sealed with a tamper-evident security seal.

Survival Kit Contents

• Canopy
• 4 Canopy Rods and 1 Mast (Mast is a 4-piece set of poles)
• Utility Kit
• Secondary Utility Kit
• Manual Inflation Raft Pump
• Instruction Manual

HAFEX Halon-free Fire Extinguisher

• Pre-flight checks include checking the gauge in the green and ensuring the extinguisher is sealed with a tamper-evident seal.
• Locations: 3 on A320, 4 on A321, and 5 on A321NEO.

Extended Tarmac Delay Kit (EDK)

• Each aircraft is equipped with one EDK box containing 240 packages of Biscoff cookies.
• EDK box is located in the AFT OHB A/C Right.
• These snacks are specifically provisioned for the TDP and are NOT authorized for use at any other time.

Megaphone

• Used in an evacuation or if the PA becomes INOP.
• 30 minutes of continuous use, 50 feet range.
• 2 Megaphones are available on each aircraft, located in FWD and AFT OHB, A/C Left and Right.

Emergency Medical Kit (EMK)

• 1 EMK is available on each aircraft, located in the AFT OHB, A/C Right.
• EMK is sealed with a tamper-evident seal (green, yellow, or red) and secured in a bracket with a pin.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

• AED is a computer that assesses a patient's heart rhythm and administers an electrical shock through the chest wall to the heart.
• Can be used by Flight Attendants or trained personnel.
• Located in the AFT OHB, A/C Right, with a battery status indicator that flashes a black hourglass or a green light.
• Secured in a bracket with a pin and sealed with a tamper-evident seal.

Infant Life Vest

• 15 infant life vests are located in the AFT OHB, A/C Left.
• They are stored in a plastic bag and secured in a brown burlap bag.

Life Raft

• Locations:
  • A320: 1 AFT OHB, A/C Left
  • A321: 1 2R OHB, A/C Right, and 1 3L OHB, A/C Left
  • A321NEO: 1 OWE OHB, A/C Right, and 1 3L OHB, A/C Left
• Secured with belts.

Flashlights

• Used in evacuations or power failures only.
• 4 hours of continuous use.
• LED flashlights are located under each FA jumpseat.
• Red flashing light indicates low battery.
• Secured in a bracket.

Crew Life Vest

• One life vest is located in a compartment under each FA jumpseat.
• Sealed in a plastic bag.

Airbag Seat Belt

• Located in Row 1 seats on aircraft equipped with airbag seat belts.
• FA "C" and FA "E" are responsible for checking.

Pre-flight Check

• A321NEO: divided into 5 zones, each FA responsible for one zone.
• A320: FA "C" and FA "D" are responsible for checking assigned jumpseats, cabin Safety Information Cards, and customer life vests.
• Checks include:
  • Safety Information Cards
  • Customer life vests
  • Seatbacks free of trash
  • OHBs open and empty
  • Lavatory checks:
    • No items stowed under the sink
    • Toilet and water systems functioning
    • Trash flaps are secured
