By the end of this lecture, students will be able to: Thinking: “is an organized and controlled mental activity that helps you solve problems, make decisions, and understand ideas” Thinking skills: knowledge, dispositions, and cognitive and metacognitive operations. Definitions Cognition: The mental operations involved in thinking; the biological/neurological processes of the brain that facilitate thinking. ()التفصيل Definitions Critical thinking: “problem solving” Critical thinkers: Pretend to know more than they do. Get annoyed by problems. Judge on first impressions. Focus on their own opinions. Look only for ideas like their own. Are guided by feelings rather than thoughts. Claim that thinking gives them a headache. Are impatient. 1. Be willing to plan: habit of planning. 2. Be flexible: Develop a Consider new solutions for old problems. 3. Creative thinking: “out of the box” 4. Be persistent: Good thinking is a hard work. 5. Be willing to self-correct: went wrong and learn from your mistakes.
