Could experience low self-esteem due to his/her body image. Crave acceptance from friends and do not want to stand out. May constantly look for confirmation from the outside, comparing himself or herself to the images in the media.  Teenage Dating With dating can come peer pressure to engage in sexual activities. Time that parents need to highly monitor their child’s whereabouts. Teenagers find time to socialize in the afternoons and evenings after school, while their parents are at work.  Teenage Pregnancy Permanently affects the lives of both the mother and the father. Being a teenage mother makes it difficult to continue one’s studies. What do you think are the factors why this happened? Sexual Behavior & Sexual Identity This is a normal natural and powerful urge in these years but not all teenage relationships include sex. Some may want romantic intimacy and ways to express love and affection and might be curious to explore. May feel sexual attraction to the opposite gender, while some may feel sexual attraction to people of the same sex.  Premarital Sex A sexual activity or intercourse done before marriage or in the absence of marriage.  Premarital Sex To cope with feelings of loneliness, being unappreciated, inadequacy, and completeness, some teenagers recklessly search for fulfillment and seek comfort by engaging in a sexual relationship.  Premarital Sex Whereas those teenagers who grow under the guidance of their parents and guardians, feel loved and appreciated, and engage in wholesome fulfilling activities are less likely to look for love elsewhere and react impulsively which could lead them to make unwise sexual decisions.  Premarital Sex While those teenagers who have a very strong faith in God tend to have deeply-rooted belief in the significance of sex preservation and avoiding any temptation to exploit others due to selfish reasons through premarital sex.  Premarital sex – Sexual behaviors of the youth are categorized as one of the main health priorities of society due to the prevalence of HIV, AIDS, Sexually transmitted infections, and unwanted pregnancies. Risk Factors of Premarital Sex Alcohol and Drug Use Low interest in academics Having a steady History of physical or relationship sexual abuse Little Parental Monitoring Frequent family relocations Parental belief that Presence of only one teenage sex is appropriate parent in the household Parental belief that Sexually Transmited teenage sex is unevitable Disease Alcohol and drug use  Alcohol and drug use – Aside from rebellious attitude, poor self-concept, and vulnerability which can make sexual involvement more likely, the use of alcohol and drugs also weakens the resistance of teenagers to sexual overtures. Having a steady relationship When physical expressions of affection begin early in the relationship and there are strong attachments and feelings of exclusivity, then nature might take its course. If this romance gets hot and heavy and a lot of physical contact is already displayed, the teenage couple should be spoken with in a candid and diplomatic manner about the physical process that they are setting in motion before it could lead to premarital sex. Little Parental Monitoring Leaving teenagers alone for hours at a time might also be set up for sexual activity.
