Reviewer ni bes Subject In almost all art forms, there is a subject that serves as a foundation of the creation of the work of art. It is the most obvious aspect of an artwork. It is what the work of art depicts or represents WHAT IS THE WORK OF ART ALL ABOUT? SUBJECT Not the basis of judging a work of art. What matters most is not the subject matter, but how well the artist handles or presents that subject matter in his or her work. Subject vs. content The subject matter is literal visible image in a work, while the content includes the connotative, symbolic and the suggestive aspects of the image. It is the communication of ideas Types of visual art according to subject Representational- it aims to represent actual objects or subjects from reality. They are artworks which are based on images. Non-Representational- the artwork does not represent or depict something. Usually the content of the work is its color, shapes, brushstrokes, size, scale, and in some cases, its process. Technique Is the manner in which the artist controls the medium to achieve the desired effect It has something to do with the way he manipulates his medium to express his ideas in the artwork. What is an organization? It refers to the order in a work of art Refers to the ways elements are arranged, combined, and configured to make a whole. Painting is the application of paint, pigment, color or other medium to the surface Pigments are vegetable or mineral extracts which make up the coloring matter of paint. In art, the term painting describes both the act and the result of the action distance There are three distances to look for a painting: 1. the part of the painting closest to the foreground. 2. the part in which is farthest away is called the background; and 3. the middle ground is the part between the foreground and background. color 1. Hue is the name of any colors as found in its pure state in the spectrum or rainbow. 2. Intensity is the brightness or dullness of a hue or color. color Color presents us with an additional range of expressive nuances. Artists use colors to convey feelings and moods within the painting Shape and form It defines object in space. GEOMETRIC SHAPES- include mathematical, named shapes such as squares, circles and etc. ORGANIC SHAPES- are typically irregular or asymmetrical. space The area around the primary object is known as negative space, while the space occupied by the primary objects is known as positive space. The illusion of space is achieved through perspective drawing techniques and shading. Free-standing sculpture Also known as sculpture-in-the-round, likely represent the form of sculpture most recognizable to modern people. It is any work of sculpture which can be viewed from any angle around the pedestal Basic sculpture techniques Modeling- is the process of manipulating soft materials to create a three dimensional form. Unlike carving, modeling requires soft substances that can be easily and rapidly shaped by the sculpture’s hands. Elements of painting The elements of art are the building blocks use to create a work of art. A person who can identify the elements and evaluate their role in the composition of a work of art will be able to understand an artist’s choice. VALIDATIONS OF SOCIAL INSTITUTION -Many cultures of institutions have a song that embodies part of their individual culture-fight song ENTERTAINMENT- Music used to kill boredom by giving us the joy of the listening experience when we hear it and respond. MUSIC COLLABORATES WITH OTHER ARTS -Music used in other arts and sciences such as dances, mathematics, poetry, painting, language, and other related arts. CONTRIBUTES TO THE CONTINUITY AND STABILITY OF CULTURE -Music for exploring other culture. PHYSICAL RESPONSE -Listening to fast-paced, upbeat music helps runners to run at a quicker pace.
