Tourism can be divided into types according to these features: ❖ According to the geographical direction; ❖ According to the purpose of the trip; ❖ According to the method of movement; ❖ According to the means of accommodation; ❖ According to the number of participants and so on. Types of tourism according to geographical direction Forms of tourism are international and domestic tourism. International tourism includes:  Inbound tourism — travel within the Republic of Uzbekistan of persons who do not reside permanently in the Republic of Uzbekistan;  Outbound tourism — a trip of persons permanently residing in the Republic of Uzbekistan to another country. Domestic tourism includes travel within the Republic of Uzbekistan of persons permanently residing in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Types of tourism according to the purpose of the trip Cultural tourism: This type of tourism focuses on visiting places of cultural significance, such as museums, art galleries, historical sites, and religious sites. Cultural tourists are often interested in learning about the history and culture of the places they visit. Adventure tourism: This type of tourism involves activities that are challenging and exciting, such as hiking, camping, backpacking, rock climbing, and white-water rafting. Adventure tourists are often seeking out new experiences and opportunities to push themselves outside of their comfort zones. Ecotourism: This type of tourism focuses on visiting natural areas and supporting sustainable tourism practices. Ecotourists are often interested in learning about the local environment and wildlife, and they are committed to minimizing their impact on the places they visit. Beach tourism: This type of tourism focuses on relaxing and enjoying the sun and sand. Beach tourists often stay at resorts or hotels that are located directly on the beach, and they spend their days swimming, sunbathing, and participating in water sports. Medical tourism: This type of tourism involves traveling to another country to receive medical care. Medical tourists are often seeking out high-quality care at a lower cost than what they would pay in their home country. Sports tourism: This type of tourism involves traveling to watch or participate in sporting events. Sports tourists often travel to see major sporting events, such as the Olympics or the World Cup. Bleisure tourism: Bleisure travel is a combination of business and leisure travel. It is becoming increasingly popular as more and more people are able to work remotely. Bleisure travelers often extend their business trips to include some leisure activities, such as sightseeing or visiting family and friends. Wellness tourism: Wellness tourism is a type of tourism that focuses on health and well-being. It includes things like spa treatments, yoga retreats, and healthy eating programs. Religious tourism, is a type of tourism where people travel to specific places for religious or spiritual purposes. Commercial tourism Social tourism refers to all types of tourist trips consumed by low-income and groups in need of social protection. The purpose of Social tourism is not to make a profit, but to support low-income people to exercise their right to recreation. But The purpose of Commercial tourism is to make a profit. Types of tourism according to the number of participants  Individual-single  Group (spontaneously organized group)  Group (a group of people who know each other) Types of tourism according to organizational forms  Organized.  Not organized. (Independent Tourism) Organized tourism is the travel of individuals or a group of tourists organized by tour organizations. Tourists on the organized tour acquire the right to travel by purchasing a tourist ticket. It involves participating in activities that require physical exertion and mental involvement, while promoting sustainability and cultural appreciation. Key Characteristics: Physical activity: Active tourism often involves activities that require physical exertion, such as hiking, biking, kayaking, climbing, or skiing. Engagement with nature: Active tourism often takes place in natural settings, allowing participants to connect with and appreciate the beauty of the environment. Cultural immersion: Active tourism can also involve participating in cultural activities, such as learning local customs, traditions, or languages. Sustainability: Active tourism is often associated with sustainable practices, such as minimizing environmental impact and supporting local communities. The passive type of tourism includes a quieter and less strong type of tourist travel, not characterized by physical exertion. This type of tourism is intended for people who are adapted to rest and has healing properties of a therapeutic nature, that is, various sanatoriums can be included among them. This type of tourism is more suitable for families with young children, elderly tourists and retirees. Types of tourism according to means of accommodation  Camping Tourism: Definition: This type of tourism involves staying in a campsite, typically in a tent or caravan. Characteristics: Often associated with outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and fishing. Provides a more immersive experience in nature.  Homestay Tourism: This involves staying in a private home with a local family.  Hotel Tourism:This is the most common type of tourism, involving staying in a hotel or similar accommodation.
