MDF ‫ أخشاب متوسطة الكثافة‬-2 3- High density Fiber board HDF ‫ أخشاب الكثافة عالية‬-3 2- Medium density Fiber MDF ‫ أخشاب متوسطة الكثافة‬-2 board It is one of the most modern industrial wood in the world markets and is known commercially as M.D.F, which is an abbreviation for medium density compressed sheets. It is a homogeneous wood board across the entire block, made of natural wood - grinded and dried, with industrial resins added as an adhesive, and then pressed under an electric frequency and temperature of about 160 ° C. Add the adhesive resin: - The fibers and wood pellets are bonded together using urea formaldehyde resin. A mixture of urea, melamine, phenolic and isocyanate can be used. Any other resin can be added as an additional material and adhesives to the panels requiring higher properties such as higher resistance to moisture or combustion retardation. M.D.F plates are produced in standard sizes: 122 x 244 Italy 183 × 366 Spain 125 x 275 France The thickness starts from 3 mm to 50 mm and its density to 650 - 720 kg / m 3. Characteristics of medium density Fiber board (M.D.F): - The following characteristics of M.D.F wood illustrate the possibility of using this material in the manufacture of furniture, interior design, 1- Internal attachment and paste: - The strength of the internal adhesion is given as an indication of the resistance of the slab to the fission or the separation into layers. 2- Modulus of Elasticity :- Designers are interested in the flexibility factor. This property is associated with the use of M.D.F for horizontal surfaces such as table tops and shelves, which is equal to beech wood in this property. 3 - Stability dimensions: - M.D.F wood is a stable material compared to solid wood, which has a large movement through fibers. - Combustion delay: - M.D.F plates have a flame-retardant feature and can be increased by adding materials that have a flame- retardant feature. Uses of M.D.F plates with combustion delay properties: 1 - Binding of the walls 2- Partition in the offices 3 - Office furniture 4 - Interior design of shops 5 - Exhibitions. Paste wood veneer for panels "M.D.F" The M.D.F panels feature a smooth surface that is homogeneous and flawless, such as Grains or Knots. This allows the crust to be applied with less effort than any other surface, preferably suitable adhesives such as urea formaldehyde (UF), Polyvinyl acetate (P.V.AC) Surface cladding of M.D.F sheets with coating foil such as PVC foil: MDF surfaces can be treated with PVC cladding sheets because they have a similar appearance to the wood veneer, characterized by being stretched and shrunk under pressure and heat factors to cover the wooden surface, which is a dielectric or protective material for wood from moisture and water and it is considered a final finishing that does not require paint or varnishes afterwards, like wood veneer. Applicable adhesives such as urea formaldehyde (UF) or polyvinyl acetate (P.V.AC, under pressure and proper temperature. Surface finishing of M.D.F boards: One of the best features of M.D.F plates that the surface is very smooth with no fibers, which affect the softness or appear defects after the paint and therefore it gives a very good result of paints. Therefore, the surfaces can be painted with pigmented lacquer , polyester resin. The following are some of the applications that are manufactured from M.D.F plates 1 - Using M.D.F in the work forms: The use of molded shapes made of M.D.F has been used to replace solid wood used in the furniture industry and in interior design. MDF is introduced in applications such as doors, mirror frames, and doors surrounding windows. As an example, MDF panels are used after the formation in a shape that is filled with fillings and is coated with natural veneer such as oak and is used very widely in kitchens. Use M.D.F wood in wall cladding Plates, Covering the wood veneer and painting in different colors. Use M.D.F wood in wall cladding Plates, Covering the wood veneer and painting in different colors High density compressed boards: H.D.F: High-density fiber board, which is a high-density compressed board, is also made of modern processed wood produced by technological development. Made with the same steps as M.D.F with increased density of wood and increased pressure, adhesives and resins added to it and its density to 950 kg / m 3. One of the most practical applications of wood. HD.F used in the manufacture of laminate flooring because of its great bearing strength, and high resistance to the corrosion. Using H.D.F in floor cladding: The H.D.F used in floor cladding is produced 19 cm long and 120 cm long. Consists of four layers: 1. The upper layer of cellulose is extended to scratch and corrosion resistant and is transparent. 2. Color layer, which mimics any color of the natural veneer. 3. Wood H.D.F. With a density of 950 kg / m 3. 4. Melamine layer to increase the resistance of wood to moisture. And is installed on the floor immediately after ascertaining the accuracy, and the panels are installed with each other by the deserter and tongue. It is used in public places such as offices and conference rooms, because it has high bearing strength and is scratch resistant.
