Perception of safety is influenced by actual or perceived rates of injury or death, such as assault, motor vehicle accidents, damage to property or theft. However, perception of crime can often be worse than actual crime rate and that can be simply due to how a person feels in their environment. **[Measuring Livability:]** - - - - The EUI gives each city is awarded a score out of 100, this score os then averaged to calculate the final score.
