ENHANCING THE PRESENTATION ANIMATION Animation in Microsoft PowerPoint is a feature that allows you to add movement and effects to objects on a slide. It can be used to transition between slides, highlight certain elements, or draw attention to specific points. It allows users to add visual effects to their slides, which can help to create a more engaging and professional-looking presentation. APPLYING ANIMATION Select the object on the slide that you want to animate. On the Animations tab, click Animation, and pick an animation effect. To apply additional animation effects to the same object, select it, click Add Animation and pick another animation effect. Alternatively, you can use the Animation Pane to add animation effects to the same object. TRANSITION The most common animations available in Microsoft PowerPoint are transitions, which allow users to move between slides with a variety of effects, such as fades, wipes, and slides. It is an animation-like effects that happen when you move from one slide to the next during a presentation. APPLYING TRANSITION Select the slide you want to add a transition to. Select the Transitions tab and choose a transition. Select a transition to see a preview. Select Effect Options to choose the direction and nature of the transition. SLIDE SHOW a presentation of a series of still images (slides) on a projection screen or electronic display device, typically in a prearranged sequence. You can start presenting your slideshow in a number of ways: 1. Go to Slide Show tab → Start Slide Show group → From Beginning or From Current Slide command. 2. Select the Slide Show icon from the status bar at the bottom of the screen. 3. Press the F5 key on the keyboard. Move through your slides by clicking the mouse, pressing the spacebar, or using the arrow keys on the keyboard. To exit your slideshow: 1. Press the Esc key on the keyboard. 2. Right-click on the slide and select End Show at the bottom of the resulting menu. Play Narrations Play back audio narrations and laser pointer gestures during your slide show. You can record narrations and gestures by clicking Record. Show Media Controls Show the controls for playing audio and video clips when you hover over the clips during the slide show. Use Timings Play back slide and animation timings during your slide show. - You can record slide and animation timings using Rehearse Timings or Record Slide Show. Use Presenter View Presenter View shows the full-screen slide show on one monitor and a "speaker view" on another monitor showing a preview of the next slide, your speaker notes, a timer, and more. If you only have one monitor, you can use Alt+F5 to try out Presenter View Start From Beginning (F5) Start the show from the first slide. Start from current Slide (Shift+F5) Custom Slide Show Show only the slides you choose. This is a great way to shorten your presentation, or tailor it for different audiences. Just pick the slides you want to use, add them to the new show, change the slide order if necessary, and you're done. Set Up Show Set up advanced options for the slide show, such as kiosk mode Hide Slide Select to determine whether the current slide appears in the presentation Show Presentation On Let PowerPoint automatically choose which monitor displays your slide show, or pick one yourself. USING ACTION BUTTONS AND HYPERLINKS Hyperlinks and actions – are two powerful tools that allow presenters to create a seamless flow, incorporating interactivity and navigation into their presentations. Hyperlinks – is a clickable element that allows the user to jump to another location within the same document, a different document, or a website. CREATING HYPERLINKS Select the text, image, or shape you want to turn into a hyperlink. Right-click on the selected element and choose “Hyperlink” from the context menu. In the “Insert Hyperlink” dialog box, choose the type of hyperlink (e.g., to another slide, a webpage, or a file) Follow the prompts to specify the destination of the hyperlink. Click “OK” to apply the hyperlink. ADDING ACTION BUTTONS Navigate to the “Insert” tab on the ribbon. Click on “Shapes” and choose an action button from the dropdown menu. Draw the action button on the slide. In the “Action Settings” dialog box, choose the desired action for the button (e.g., hyperlink to the next slide. Click “OK” to apply the action. SETTING AND PACKAGING PRESENTATIONS SETTING UP YOUR PRESENTATION 1.Create a New Presentation: Open PowerPoint and select New. Choose a Blank Presentation or a template that suits your needs. 2.Add Slides: Click on the Home tab, then select New Slide. Choose the layout for each slide (e.g., Title Slide, Title and Content, etc.). SETTING UP YOUR PRESENTATION 3. Insert Content: Add text, images, charts, and other elements by selecting the appropriate options from the Insert tab. Format your text and objects using the Font and Paragraph tools in the Home tab. 4. Format Your Slides Use the formatting tools to customize the appearance of your slides PACKAGING YOUR PRESENTATION 1. Save Your Presentation: Go to File > Save As and save your presentation to your desired location. 2. Package the Presentation: Go to File > Export > Package Presentation for CD. 3. Name the Package: In the dialog box, give your package a name PACKAGING YOUR PRESENTATION 4. Include Linked Files: Make sure to check the option to include linked files in the package 5. Choose a Location: Select a location to save the packaged presentation, such as a USB drive or a folder on your computer 6. Complete the Packaging: Click ‘OK’ to package your presentation.
