Conciseness Eliminating unnecessary words or details and communicating your point concisely and clearly. “Straight to the point” Example: “In my opinion, I think we should…” “We should…” Consideration Taking your audience's requirements, interests, and viewpoints into account. Example: Be considerate of the traditions and beliefs of your coworkers who come from diverse ethnic backgrounds when you communicate with them. Clarity Avoid ambiguity and uncertainty by clearly and understandably expressing your point. Example: Use simple language. Choose your words carefully. Use examples and illustrations to clarify your points. Concreteness Provide specific, relevant instances to support your arguments. Example: "The sales were down," "Sales decreased by 15% last quarter." Courtesy Communicate in a courteous, thoughtful, and respectful manner Example: Make use of civil words like "please" and "thank you."
