TEACHER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT COURSE SYLLABUS First Semester, AY 2024- 2025 Credit Course Code EDUC 55 Course Title The Teaching Profession Type Lecture 3 Units This course deals with the understanding of the roles of a teacher as a person and as a professional within the context of national and global Course teachers’ standards, educational philosophies, and legal bases. It includes knowledge of core values that uphold the dignity of the teaching Description profession, discussion of the code of ethics for professional teachers, and awareness and understanding of existing laws and jurisprudence governing professional rights privileges and responsibilities, and teachers’ roles in the society as transformative agents of change.
