**[Blood biomarkers in Dementia]** **Types of AD biomarkers:** - Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF): - Analysed through a lumber puncture. - Able to identify tangles and plaques in the brain by using CSF. - Amyloid and Tau: - Analysed through a PET scan. - Molecular biomarkers - Blood: - Paramagnetic particles coupled with antibodies designed to bind to specific targets are added to the blood sample. - Then, detection antibodies that are capable of generating fluorescent product are added to the blood sample. - Finally, the objective is to form an immunocomplex consisting of the bead, bound protein, and detection antibody.
