DOCUMENT USE For each station, the document provides detailed diagrams relating to stations or tunnels within the Metro-Rail System. The detailed diagrams contain all the information necessary to successfully operate within the system, but are not all inclusive of the physical features of the system. The following are recommended steps for effectively using this document: 1. Identify the station on the Segment 1 station map. Because this project should be thought of as a "system," you should also identify those areas adjacent to your main concern. 2. For each station there is an overview and several detailed diagrams. The overview page will provide information concerning best access, location of the alarm panels, and related information concerning building description, hazards, and Fire Department Connections. The Stations are provided with a Street Level Diagram. It was designed to cover an area large enough to assist an Incident Commander with staging and deployment of resources. Public access to the station is denoted with the large letter "A". Inlets to supplement the fire suppression system (FDC-Fire Department Connections), Elevators that extend to street level (E) and emergency exit hatches are also featured. 3. The Metro-Rail System is extremely complex. This document is a tool that will assist you in successfully accomplishing a wide variety of tasks. Like all tools, the final outcome of its use will depend heavily on the effort expended in becoming familiar with it prior to emergency use.
