Adding an Alternate IP Configuration ==================================== 1. Navigate to the **Network Connections** on the computer. 2. Double-click the desired Ethernet connection. 3. Double-click **Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)** or **Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)** as necessary based on the individual device. ![](media/image2.png) 4. Notate the existing network configuration settings on the computer for reference later. 5. Click the **Use the following IP address** radio button to select it. 6. Input an IP address compatible with the default Concentrator IP address (e.g., 208.6.140.100). 7. Click the **Tab** button on the keyboard and keep the Subnet mask of **255.255.255.0**. 8. Input an IP address in the facility-assigned network IP scheme (e.g., **192.168.0.1**). 12. IP Addresses 2. Computer 3. IT Department #### Changing Concentrator IP Address 1. Change the computer's IP scheme to be compatible with the **208.6.140.xxx** scheme. In this example, the IP address **208.6.140.100** is used. For more information, refer to Appendix A: Changing a Computer IP Address. 2. Connect the first Concentrator to the computer using a crossover cable and apply power to the Concentrator. -- -- -- -- 3. Refer to Section III.E.1.a: Adding a New Concentrator for information on using the - VER-2032-DHCP Concentrator: **208.6.140.102** - VER-2037 V7 Concentrator: **208.6.140.104** 4. Select the desired IP address from the **Concentrators** list by clicking it. 6. Write the new IP address on the label of the Concentrator with a pen or permanent marker. -- -- -- -- 10. Power down the Concentrator and unplug it from the crossover cable. 11. Repeat these steps for each Concentrator until all IP addresses have been changed. 12. When finished, click the **Save & Close** button to save the changes and close the Preferences window. -- -- -- -- 13. (OPTIONAL) If necessary, change the computer's IP address back to the original. If a laptop was used to administrate the Concentrator(s) as directed, the technician must place the Concentrators on the facility network using straight-through network cables and add their IP addresses to the server's Wired Locating Driver.
