PULMONES Computer Subject Teacher Exploring the Microsoft Environment 1 -The Tab is a menu that contains the different Word commands arranged into groups. Exploring the Microsoft Environment 2-Contextual tab provides commands and options only when you need it. Exploring the Microsoft Environment 3 - A group contains commands put together in a logical manner. For example, Equation and Symbol commands are found in a group named Symbols. Exploring the Microsoft Environment 4 - A command is the action you want to execute in Word, such as Copy or Paste. Exploring the Microsoft Environment 5 - The dialog box launcher opens a related window containing different options as found in the old versions of Word Organizing and Managing the Word Environment Press Ctrl+FI to toggle collapse or display the Ribbon. Toggle means to switch between one setting and another. Click the Collapse Ribbon button located beside the Editing group on the Home tab. Click the Ribbon Display Options button located at the upper-right corner window, and then choose from the following options: Auto-hide Ribbon, Show Tabs, or Show Tabs and Commands. Working with Word Windows View Read Mode hides the Ribbon and task panes so you can concentrate on reading the document. Web Layout is particularly useful if you are designing a web page using Word. It gives you a preview of how your document will look like when published on the internet. Working with Word Windows View Outline view displays your document in an outline format. You can indent main headings and subheadings and concentrate on the content. This is particularly useful if you are writing a book or preparing a speech. Draft view hides all elements except the text. This is useful for quick editing. Displaying and Arranging Multiple Windows New Windows allows you to create a duplicate window of your current document. Arrange All is used to arrange all open documents so you can easily jump from one document to another. Split allows you to have a split view of the same document so you can review and compare different parts of the document. View Side by Side helps you compare different documents for any changes
