ACLC COLLEGE OF MANDAUE ETHICS Prepared by: Ms. Christine Gako, LPT Ethics or Moral Philosophy, is a field of philosophy that explores what is right and wrong in human actions and the goodness or badness of people's character. It focuses on ideas like moral standards, conscience, values, and virtues. CONSCIENCE Conscience is key in ethics, acting as an internal guide that helps individuals distinguish right from wrong. It serves as an innate sense of morality that influences decisions, reflecting one's integration of moral standards and driving ethical behavior. MORAL VALUES Moral values represents the ideals like honesty, kindness, and justice that people cherish and aim to follow. These universal values guide ethical decisions and help individuals live in line with their moral beliefs. Ethical human behavior depends on two things: 1. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT 2. HUMAN DEVELOPMENT PERSONAL DEVELOMENT Personal development involves internalizing values, judgments, and thoughts, and morally, it means moving from merely following obligations to choosing the best actions.
