A year ago, I visited friends in Stockholm for Christmas. On Christmas day, I walked down the street and noticed a beautiful girl going into a coffee shop. After some time, I returned to that shop because it was cold and dark outside. **[There]** was only one table open next to her. I started writing in my journal, and after about 30 minutes, we began talking and ended up spending hours together. After that incident, we went ice skating, explored all the museums and we took photographs together. I met her family. Amelie is French and I am from the United States. She was studying translation so she spoke really good English but her family hardly spoke at all. One night, I walked her back to her hotel around 2:30 in the morning.  I gave her a flannel shirt as a gift, kissed her cheek, and said good night before walking away. I heard someone rushing after me on the empty street late at night. She caught up, breathing heavily, and said, "You know, Michael, **[I]** know this is crazy and I've only known you for a few days, but I'm in love with you and you just needed to know." After spending so much time together, I smiled and said I loved her too. We just stood there hugging and looking at each other. It was a very special moment. We ended up dating long distance thereafter.
