To solve problems involving the addition of whole numbers solving problem GROUP WORK Problem-Solving Carousel  Each group will receive a card with an addition problem and a small whiteboard or scratch paper.  Set a timer for 3-5 minutes and have each group solve the addition problem on their card. Encourage them to discuss their strategies and ensure everyone in the group understands.  When time is up, each group rotates their card to the next group clockwise. They then receive a new card with a different problem to solve.  Continue rotating until each group has solved 4-5 problems. SOLUTION SHARING Present one of your solutions and explain how you approached the problem. Solve the following problem.  What strategies did you use to solve the problems?  How can you use addition in real life? Can you think of a new situation where you might use addition?
