Digital Media Digital media is any kind of media which can be processed, analyzed, stored and distributed by electronic digital machines or devices. Digital Media is similar to traditional media in terms of its ability to deliver content and value to audience or potential customers but it differs in the fact that it is totally digital in nature, its effectiveness can be measures easily and it is highly interactive and shareable. 03 The Internet of Things The idea of having everything interconnected into a network is a concept that is rapidly gaining popularity in this age of advanced technology. With the introduction of “The Internet of Things”, these objects are no longer just tools to complete tasks, but are part of a larger network where they can send and receive data. Internet of Things Refers to the digitally connected universe of smart devices. These devices are embedded with internet connectivity, sensors and other hardware that allow communication and control via web. Internet of Things This concept gained popularity in the early 1990s. The term Internet of Things or IoT was coined by Kevin Ashton, who is a co-founder of MIT’s Auto-ID Center. Its premise is to connect everyday objects to a computing device to analyze and produce useful information. Internet of Things A light bulb can now be connected to via a wireless network in order to be switched on or off, change colors, or adjust its brightness. Thermostats can also be connected to smartphones using a Wireless Network Connection so that temperatures can be adjusted using an application. Smart home A smart home refers to a convenient home setup where appliances and devices can be automatically controlled remotely from anywhere with an internet connection using a mobile or other networked device.
