# UI notes for exam ## Intro: Islam - Complete way of life - guidance in - individual - society - material - spiritual - economic - political *Al-Baqarah 2:208* ## Islam? - Religion revealed by Allah SWT to prophet Muhammad SAW *Submission, obedience, surrender* ## Involuntary (compulsory) - Submission of all creatures to the law of Allah SWT - Matter of nature / instinct ## (Optional) Voluntary - Submission of man & genie - Granted freedom of choice - **Choose to follow** = Muslim - **Choose to Refuse** = Kafir ## Thu - Peace & Security ### How is Islam built diff? 1. **Originates from Allah SWT** - Creator of mankind & universe - Injunctions & commands (aqidah, shariah) 2. **Revealed to Prophets - Final & most comprehensive message came through Muhammad SAW (Islam)** 3. **Revealed in form of scripture - Preserved in Divine Book, Quran** 4. **Based on belief in the Hereafter** - Believe in existence of Hell & Heaven - Final destination of human - Was mentioned in the Quran ### Examples: #### Involuntary - Sun rising - Migration of animals - Tides & wares - Rain #### Voluntary - Performing ibaadah - Zakat (donation) - Commit crimes ## Note: - Bring Matric card! - 1/2 pen/pencil/eraser - Recheck answers - Answer multiple answers (even if they ask for one/two) - Lect. will try to help students
