PURPOSIVE COMMUNICATION Instructor: What is Purposive Communication? What is Purposive Communication? LESSON 1: Communication Processes Lesson 1: What is COMMUNICATION ? Lesson 1: What is COMMUNICATION ? Lesson 1: Communication can be defined as a process by which information, meanings and feelings are shared by person through a common system of verbal and nonverbal symbols, signs or bahavior. Lesson 1: Characteristics of Communication 1.Dynamic- it is constantly changing 2.Continuous- it is an ongoing exchange of meaning-sharing behaviors between/among individuals 3.Adaptive- it adjust to the changes that occur in its physical and psychological Lesson Characteristics of 1: Communication 4. Systematic- it involves components that are interrelated and interacting in a cyclic order. 5. Transactional-every communication is a unique combination of people, messages and events; it consists unending sharing. Lesson 1: A.
