Apostle Sedrick & Pastor Angela Davis “The City of Life Ministries” Email: [email protected] 1 Thy Word The greatest battle in the life of the believer always stems back to one main source. No matter what problem we face or what type of issue we encounter, one issue can always be identified. • John 1:1-1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with (inside the mind of) God, and the Word was God. • John 1:3-3All things were made by (the spoken word) him; and without (the spoken word) him was not any thing made that was made. If we use a simple mathematical process to sum up what is being said by these scriptures, we could conclude that the hidden word of our mind has the power to create a thought that then becomes a released word from our mouth and this word once released has “god-like” power to create, destroy, build, tear down, activate, and deactivate areas in our life. • Genesis 2:19-19And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he (Adam) would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. We use our words so recklessly and careless that we don’t even give a second thought before releasing the forces of spirit to work in our life according to our commands. Question: What really is a word? Webster’s:(Greek) eirein- to say or speak something, to put one’s thought or feelings into sounds & symbols that communicate a meaning. Words are underestimated until their impact is seen, felt and manifested in the intended target. • Isaiah 55:11-11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Let me show you what a word really is and what it really does. • • • • • Genesis 1:3-Let there be Light-------[Words formed energy where the was no energy] Genesis 1:9-Let there be dry land---[Words formed foundation & support for things to stand] Genesis 1:11-11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself------[Words created seed] Genesis 1:14-14And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:----[Words built time frames] Hebrews 11:3-3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, ----[Words built worlds of dimensional existences] Simple math: God’s use of words built his spiritual and natural worlds so our use of words has built our life today. Peter found out that words are bridges and building blocks. • Matthew 14:28-29-28And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29And he (Jesus) said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. Thy Word Apostle Sedrick & Pastor Angela Davis “The City of Life Ministries” Email: [email protected] 2 Lazarus found out that words can build bridges that allow us to escape death and bondage. • John 11:43-44-43And when he thus had spoken, he cried (spoke) with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. Whenever you find that your life is walking contrary to your desires there is usually one of two issues that is happening. 1. Your heart is rejecting your commands due to conflicting experience or evidence that has been gathered against you. • Matthew 15:8-8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 2. You have not learned how to hear the unspoken words that are being spoken in the background of your mind. • • John 8:43-43Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word. Acts 3:23-23And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed Many of you have raised stubborn stiff necked souls and now you cannot control them. That’s why you say you want more of God but cannot seem to get disciplined enough to do what it takes to get more. When you teach your soul to be stubborn it will act out on you. • • Job 6:7-7The things that my soul refused to touch Job 19:2-2How long will ye vex (trouble) my soul, and break me in pieces with words? In order to train the soul to obey from the heart you must do what needs to be done to convince the soul that you are serious about what your mouth says. • Romans 6:17-17But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. You must stay away from stubborn conversations, both naturally and spiritually. • 1 Peter 2:11-12-11Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12Having your conversation honest When you say one thing and then entertain the opposite thing, you give your soul the strength and right to oppose you. Based on gathered and recorded evidence that you have provided, the soul builds the case to choose its own desires and actions. • • Job 7:15-15So that my soul chooseth strangling, and death rather than my life. Job 23:13-13But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? And what his soul desireth, even that he doeth. David said you must convert (convince) your soul BEFORE you can get it to agree to obey your mouth. • Psalm 19:7-The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: Only when you gather enough proof and evidence to combat the soul and defeat it, will your words have power to produce what you are speaking concerning the Kingdom of God. Thy Word Apostle Sedrick & Pastor Angela Davis “The City of Life Ministries” Email: [email protected] 3 When you go through the learning process that the soul requires and the repeated actions that it needs to become disciplined, then your mouth will gain influence with the mind to produce manifestation. • • Revelation 9:19-19For their power is in their mouth, Revelation 11:5-6-5And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, 6These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. In order to build power in the mouth it takes more than just speaking, you must have the intention and desire to execute what is spoken. • Psalm 119:9-11-9Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word. 10With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. • Psalm 19:14-14Let the words of my mouth, AND the meditation (secret thoughts) of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Words are signs and indicators to alert, alarm and forewarn you of the areas that spiritual forces want to attack in your mind, will, emotions and life. Words are signals to show you the areas of your soul that are in need of attention. Thy Word
