It is part of the tear duct, where tears drain from the eye. Articulate with: Frontal Ethmoid Maxilla 12 Inferior nasal concha. Maxilla Bones Located at the front section of the face Forms the upper jaw which hold the teeth, sides of the nasal cavity and sections of the eye socket Articulates with: Zygomatic Frontal Palatine 13 Zygomatic Bones Form the cheek bones and are diamond shaped. Important contributors to mastication, providing an attachment point for the masseter muscle Articulates with: Sphenoid bone Maxilla Frontal bone Temporal bone 14 Mandible Bone Forms the lower part of the jaw, and houses the lower set of teeth. Largest bone in the human skull and composed of mandible body and ramus. Articulates with: Temporal bone to form the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) 15 Palatine Bones Situated at the back of the nasal cavity Helps form the nasal cavity, eye socket, and hard palate. Articulates with six bones: Sphenoid Ethmoid Maxilla Inferior nasal concha Vomer Opposite Palatine. 16 Two important foramina that transmit nerves and blood vessels: The greater and lesser palatine.
