SPACE - is the area where the artwork is organized. 2 Types of Space: 1.Positive & Negative 2. 3D space Negative-the space around and between the subject Positive-the space inside the subject or the main focus of a certain piece SPATIAL INDICATORS Size 3D Position SPACE Transparency Fractional representation Sharp and diminishing detail Converging parallels Linear perspective Linear Perspective : One-point perspective Vanishing Point Linear Perspective : Two-point perspective Vanishing Point Linear Perspective : Three-point perspective Vanishing Point Vanishing Point TEXTURE - Texture is the look or feel of a surface. - We experience texture in two ways: Optically(through sight) Physically(through touch) -It can either be made from an actual object, be simulated, or from imagination. Color Has Three Distinct Qualities: 1. Hue -the name of the color 2. Value-lightness to darkness of a color 3. Saturation-brightness to dullness of a color Yellow, Red, Blue Orange, Violet, Green Yellow-green, Yellow-orange, Red-orange, Red-violet, Blue- violet, and Blue-green WARM COLORS - advancing, stimulates COOL COLORS - receding, relaxing COLOR HARMONIES VALUE - Value is the lightness or darkness of a color. -You can get different values of a color by mixing its Shades (adding black to a color) and Tints (adding white to a color).
