Speech on Staff Policies, Practices, and Procedures at PEPPS Good day, everyone, I'd like to take a few moments to outline some key staff policies, practices, and procedures that ensure our workplace remains professional, supportive, and productive. These policies reflect our commitment to providing an environment that values both excellence and care for our staff. Now I will not address everything in the triple p you will have to go back and look over them when you have a moment Employment Benefits At PEPPS, we believe in investing in our team. As part of our employment benefits: Pension Scheme: permanent Staff are automatically registered with the ISASA Pension Scheme. You contribute 7% monthly, and PEPPS contributes 12.05%. Funeral Cover: Old Mutual Funeral Cover is available to all staff for just R26 per month. This provides coverage of R27,000 for you or your spouse and R6,000 for children in the event of loss. School Fee Discounts: Permanent staff receive a 66% discount on school fees for their biological, adopted, or legally-guarded children. Device Purchase: While the school does not provide laptops, staff can purchase devices like laptops or cell phones through the school on a 10-month repayment plan. Working Hours Academic staff 7 to 14:45 and a two afternoons per week for extra curricular Admin staff 7 to 3 weeks Estate staff 6:30 to 15:00 on the Polowane campus and PEPPS values work-life balance and provides a clear leave structure: - Sick Leave: One day per month, accumulating to a maximum of 36 days over a three-year cycle. - Family Responsibility Leave: Three days per year for matters as per the Basic Conditions of Employment Act. - Special Leave: Two discretionary days for significant matters (excluding ground and cleaning staff). - Study Leave: 16 days for exams, as per the timetable. - Staff Development Leave: Granted at the discretion of the Executive Head. - Maternity Leave: Four months. - Paternity Leave: Three paid days and an optional seven unpaid days. Dress Code Our appearance reflects our professionalism and represents the PEPPS brand. Here are some key expectations: Dress smartly and professionally, more formal than casual. Ensure clothing is neat, clean, and appropriately fitted. Sports coaches should wear appropriate sports attire. Male staff members must wear a shirt with a collar, even when coaching sport. Denim is allowed if neat, but torn or faded denim is not permitted. Avoid revealing clothing, and ensure proper coverage with modest attire. Sports blue shirt is available at the uniform shop, the school does not provide you with a shirt, you will have to buy one. Grievance Policy Awareness form This form can be used to raise awareness to the HOD of things that staff are doing well. The the same form can also be used to highlight areas of concern. If the form is that of concern, it might be followed with a concern letter just to highlight areas where you can improve. The Grievance form is for matters where you feel this is beyond a concern and management needs to address this and have a structured and formal communication Every effort will therefore be made to resolve the grievance at the earliest stage and as quickly as possible These forms can be found on the drive.
