When hydrochloric acid (HCl) is mixed with Clorox (which contains sodium hypochlorite, NaClO), chlorine gas (Cl₂) is produced along with water and sodium chloride (NaCl). This reaction is extremely dangerous and should be avoided because chlorine gas is highly toxic and can cause severe irritation to the respiratory system, skin, and eyes. The chemical reaction between hydrochloric acid (HCl) and sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) can be represented by the following equation: NaClO + 2 HCl → Cl₂ + H₂O + NaCl Here are the pictures of the reaction between sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) and hydrochloric acid (HCl). 🔥Reaction details:🔥 - Reactants: Sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) from Clorox and hydrochloric acid (HCl).Products:Chlorine gas (Cl₂), water (H₂O), and sodium chloride (NaCl). This reaction releases chlorine gas, which is toxic and can cause serious health issues. 2)What are the period that can fetal and the dose that can fetal of the following: 1. Strong acids: A. Hydrochloric acid Fatal Dose: 5 to 15 grams (ingestion), 1300 ppm (inhalation). Fatal Period: Hours to days (ingestion), minutes to hours (inhalation). B.Nitric acid Fatal Dose: 10-20 mL (ingestion), >100 ppm (inhalation). Fatal Period: Minutes to hours (inhalation), hours to days (ingestion). 2) Strong alkaline A. Carbonated of sodium Fatal Dose: 20-30 grams (ingestion). Fatal Period: Hours to days, depending on the exposure level and complications. B. Sodium hydroxide Fatal Dose: 10 grams (ingestion).
