Blizzard (by Travis Brown) Harold was having a good day. He got a raise at his work, and he got in a social experiment where he donated to a fake homeless person and won \$500. It was his favourite time of year, Halloween as well. He was driving home, on Jeremy Drive, when a car passed him. No ordinary car though; it looked like it had hit someone. Not to worry though, it was Halloween, so he couldn't be sure. *'Cool decoration'* he thought, *'would love to have something like that'\*\*\**. Then he looked at the license plates to see if it had anything cool there -- only to realise that it didn't have any. *'Well, that was unexpected'* he thought. He looked to see if he could see the driver, just in case the driver got out on foot, and it looked like there was none. He pulled over to call the police on the car with no license plates and potentially no driver. "000 what's your emergency?" "There's a car driving westbound on Jeremy Drive with no licence plates that looked like it has hit someone, and I think has no driver." "Have you taken any illegal substances?" "No" "Are you sure?" "Yes" (Silence for around 2 minutes) "We don't believe you" (.[\~].) End of call. Harold checked the date; October 31^st^ ,1999. It was a bit stupid of him as it was Halloween, and hopefully everyone that knows of Halloween knows the date that it happens. A lot of people were jealous of his car, an engine swapped Chevrolet K1500 with a custom phone installed in the dashboard. That meant he could make calls in his car. He called his roommate, to let him know he was coming home and would get some food. He pulled out his map, to see where the nearest fast-food joint was. Along the way, he saw the white car. Just after that, his clutch decided it wanted to die and stopped working. Well, it probably didn't decide to die, an object likely temporarily got in, as it had happened before. It started to get cold. *Really* cold. Like, freezing. Then a blizzard started. *'Annoying'* Harold thought. Harold put on his jacket at turned up the heating. Then he turned his high beams on, only to see the white car stopped infront of him. He grabbed his keys, and a pocket knife (just in case) and went to confront the driver to see why he was driving a car that looked like it had hit someone and had no license plates. When he got up to the car, he knocked on the window. The driver, wearing a mask rolled it down, and suddenly he opened the door and started chasing him. Harold clutched his keys. He could lose him in the forest and get to his car. After some running, he checked for his knife, only to discover that he had dropped it. He looked around, and saw an abandoned building. He decided to investigate it and check if it would be a good shelter to hide in and get away from the cold. It was alright, but it seems someone had been living in it. Best not to disturb it or the owner. Then, he saw the masked person, and he ran away. He looked behind himself while running, and saw the masked person chasing him. He saw his pocket knife, and picked it up. He turned to face his attacker, who had pulled out a knife, and started a knife fight. He tried to stab him. Deflected. He tried to stab Harold back. Missed. Tries again. Deflected. Harold does a stab. Hits, but doesn't go in, just goes through the killer's thick jacket. The murderer flings Harold's pocket knife out of his hands, and before he could get stabbed, Harold ran away. *'Oh crap*' Harold thought. *'I nearly just died to some random person.'* "Better get to your car!" The murderer called out. *'Great idea murderer'* Harold thought, but didn't yell back as it would reveal his position. He slammed the door of his car as he got in, got it started, and drove away. Harold felt a massive relief. Good thing it was a four wheel drive, or he would've had no power to his front wheels and had a greater chance of spinning out on the ice that formed in the blizzard. 728 words Before was was was, was was is.
