## Executive Order No. S-38-17 ### Establishment of Mayor's Native American Advisory Committee #### Purpose: - To allow for an opportunity for members of Omaha's Native American community to provide input to the Mayor and City leadership about issues impacting the community. #### Policy: - It is th...
## Executive Order No. S-38-17 ### Establishment of Mayor's Native American Advisory Committee #### Purpose: - To allow for an opportunity for members of Omaha's Native American community to provide input to the Mayor and City leadership about issues impacting the community. #### Policy: - It is the policy of the City of Omaha to seek stakeholder input. - The Committee is commissioned by the Mayor to solicit and provide community input and recommendations as to matters impacting the Native American community. #### Selection and Term of Committee Members: - The Committee will consist of members appointed by the Mayor. - The Committee may make recommendations to the Mayor as to additional members of the Committee with expertise or interest in Native Americans. - The Committee shall elect a chair, vice-chair, and secretary. - The Committee shall meet at least quarterly and maintain minutes of its meetings to be posted on the City website. - The Committee shall establish such bylaws, rules, procedures, terms, offices, and reporting as are necessary for the Committee to serve the function identified. #### Effective Date: - The Mayor's Native American Advisory Committee shall be effective on the signing of this Order in accordance with Section 3.17 of the Omaha Home Rule Charter. #### Oversight: - The Mayor's Office will have the responsibility for oversight and support of this Committee. #### By the Power Vested in Me as Mayor by Section 3.04 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as Amended, I Hereby Proclaim This to Be the Executive Order Establishing and Governing the Mayor's Native American Advisory Committee. #### Witness my hand as Mayor of the City of Omaha this 30th day of November, 2017.
