**[Revision list for person centred care ]** Know the 4 principles of person-centred care. Shared decision making -- what is it- what are its components. Think individualised care, holistic and tailored. Know the nurse's role in shared decision making. What do we do? Know barriers to person centred care. Know the benefits of person-centred care -- look at the slide from the power point on this. Understand compassion. Know how person-centred care differs from traditional care models -- in other words what does it prioritise and emphasize. Understand that holistic care is not just about looking after the physical but also the physiological, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of a patient's needs. Why is active listening important -- know that it helps clinicians understand our patients better and address their needs more effectively. It helps patients feel cared for and empowered. Know what role empathy plays in person centred care -- know that it allows us to understand our patients needs both physically and physiologically.
