5- The cultural turn In 1990, a group of approaches appeared under the name of cultural turn. The cultural turn began to consider the aspects of culture, politics and ideology as influencing factors in the translation process. Considers issues of gender representation or portrayal in translated literature. The feminist theory. 6- Post colonial Translation theory The primary focus of this new paradigm has been to explore and explicate power imbalances between different languages as reflected in translated literature of the colonial and post-colonial epoch. 7- Corpus-based translation studies This theory appeared in 1998 with Toury. Baker brought corpus linguistic into translation studies. CTS then was formed. Definition by Laviosa and talks about 3 branches of CTS. CTS criticized. 8- Conclusion The aim of this chapter was to highlight the developments of the translation theory from the 50s. Focused on sense for sense till CTS, while we omitted Skopos and polysystem.
