What is Holy viaticum? - Holy Viaticum is the name used to refer to the Eucharist or host given to the dying person. - Viaticum is a Latin word that is translated as “ with you on the way”. - The Eucharist or host is the real presence of Jesus Christ. - Receiving the host is allowing oneself to be accompanied by Jesus toward the second life. - Viaticum strengthens the person to face death and hold on to the promise of eternal life. 4.
