Furthermore, a poet is someone who composes poems. Novels - Long stories written with fictional characters and series of events in a specific setting. Essays -Short written compositions with a particular subject or theme. It is often written in the author’s point of view. Short Stories - Somewhat like novels, but are shorter, contain only one theme, and have fewer characters. Blogs - Entries uploaded online, discussing the blogger's personal opinions and experiences. Poems - Written in separate lines that usually have rhythm and rhyme. Songs - Considered as short poems that are sung. News - Genre of writing that reports recent and important events. Scripts - Dictate dialogues in a play, movie, or radio broadcast, which guide performers or actors. Quotes - Words of others incorporated by writers into their works for added support.
