I m p o r t a n c e of E n v i r o n m e n t a l E d u c a t i o n : 1) Instills respect for nature 2) Teaches Student about environmental challenge 3) Trains on significance of being kind to nature 4) Enables development of critical thinking skills 5) Teaches the student to be responsible L a w s r e l a te d to E n v i r o n m e n t Education Republic A c t No. 9512 An acts to promote environment awareness through environmental education and for the others proposes Section 2. D e c larat io n of Policy Consistent with the policy of the State to protect and advance the right of the people to a balanced and healthful ecology in accord with the rhythm and harmony of nature, and in recognition of the vital role of the youth in nation building and the role of education to foster patriotism and nationalism, accelerate social progress, and promote total human liberation and development, the state shall promote national awareness on the role of natural resources in economic growth and the importance of environmental conservation and ecological balance towards sustained national development. Republic Act 9003: January 26, 2001 This act provides an ecological solid waste management program, creating the necessary institutional mechanism and incentives, declaring certain acts prohibited and providing penalties, appropriating funds therefore and for other purposes. Republic 9275: March 22, 2004 An act providing for comprehensive water quality management and for other purposes. Republic 8749 Known as the Philippine Clean Air Act, is a comprehensive air quality management policy and program which aims to achieve and maintain healthy air for all. Republic 9147 Known as the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act is an act providing for the conservation and protection of wildlife resources and their habitats, appropriating funds therefor and for other purposes. Republic 9175 An act regulating the ownership, possession, sale, importation and the use of chain saw, penalizing violation thereof and for other purposes. Organisms also develop through time. Even thou gh these natura l ca u se s c o n t r i b u t e to c l i m a t e change, we k n o w t h a t they are not the p ri ma ry cause. We c a n adapt – means to adjust in natural and human s y s t e m in response to a c t u a l or e x p e c t e d c l i m a t e s t i m u l i or their effects, w h i c h m od er a te s harm or exploits. 2. We c a n m i t i g a te – t e c h n o l o g i c a l chang e and changes in a c t i v i t i es t h a t r educe r esour ce input s and em issions per unit of o u tp u t and im p l em e nt i n g polic ies to r educe gr eenhouse gas em issions and enhance s inks.” Others Issues and Concerns:
