EXPERIMENT FOR DIODE CHARACTERISTICS Objective: The purpose of this experiment is to measure and plot the forward and reverse IV characteristics of a silicon diode. Theory : Characteristic Curve (V-I) of Diode Procedure: 1.First fix the module KL-23001 in the KL-200 Linear Circuit Lab, then locate the block marked 23001-block a 2. Connect the circuit shown in figure below using block a (forward bias) 3. Use the function generator as a variable DC power supply and change the input voltage in steps 0.1,0.2,....1,2,...10 v. measure VD and Id in each step and record your results in table 1 4. Use the recorded points to draw the forward V-I characteristics of the diode 5.connect the circuit shown in figure below using block a (reverse bias) 6. Vary the applied voltage in steps 1,2,... then measure VD and ID in each step and record your results in table 2 7. Use the recorded points to draw the reverse bias characteristic curve of the diode.
