All employees have a duty to inform their line manager of any training needs and continued professional development. All employees must apply the learning received toward their daily roles and responsibilities. At Capital Podiatry Associates we have three levels for medical assistants; Entry-level, Junior, and Senior medical associates. When starting, you begin at the "Entry-Level Medical Associate" level. There is no exact time frame for moving up. However, moving up is completely up to you and the abilities you learn as time passes. You are expected to master each requirement at your level before moving up. You can find these requirements below: Entry-Level Medical Associate: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Junior Level Medical Associate: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Senior Medical Associate: - - - - - - - - - EMERGENCY PROTOCOLS ------------------- Regardless of what is happening around you, it is important that you **REMAIN CALM**. 1. ### Code word: Cotton Candy a. 2. ### Code word: Pineapple b. 3. ### Code word: Happy Feet c. MEDICAL ASSISTANT TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT ------------------------------------------ When training it is important to be patient. Always remember, everyone learns differently and at a different pace. Below you can find goals for each week of training. Your new medical assistant will be nervous and anxious, and remember that everyone starts from the bottom. We are a very high pace office and all this information can be very overwhelming. When training, think of the "building block process", starting with a strong base and building up little by little everyday. ### The building block process: When starting a new job, you want to start with basic information and cover the main points. That way even on the medical assistant\'s 2nd day of training he/she is able to start to do some tasks on their own and start to feel more comfortable in a new setting. Add to the information a little bit daily and introduce new things at their speed. Patients ask questions all the time and we must have confident answers. It is expected that the entry level medical assistant knows everything expected for their level and knows how to do it well. We are an office that promotes within and allows for growth. Allow the new medical assistant to adjust and get used to the speed and rhythm of the office. We want to make sure onboarding is comfortable and instil confidence during training. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ROOM SUPPLIES/ INVENTORY ------------------------ Learning all supplies inside the exam room is important for patient treatment. All exam room draws are labelled with item names. Every level Medical assistants have the responsibility of confirming that exam room supplies are always stocked on a daily basis.
