Luke was a physician and wrote to Theophilus. Zechariah was a priest and his wife was barren during the reign of King Herod. When Zechariah was on duty he was chosen to enter the temple of God and burn incense. An angel or the lord appeared to him saying his wife shall give birth and his name will be John. Zechariah doubted saying he and his wife were too old. Gabriel tells him he will be silent until these things take place. People realize he saw a vision. Gabriel came to Mary in Nazareth. Gabriel tells her she will give birth to Jesus. He tells her Elizabeth, her relative, has also given birth. And Mary believes. Mary went to see Elizabeth and Zechariah. When they were their the baby leaped in her womb. Mary sings a song of praise to the Lord. Elizabeth both gives birth to John. Zechariah wrote on a tablet saying the boy’s name is John. Immediately Zechariah could speak again. John became strong in the spirit. And he lived in the wilderness. 2 A decree went out from Caesar that everyone must be registered. Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem to get registered. She gave birth to Jesus at Bethlehem in a inn. Shepherds in a eld saw an angel of the lord appear to them telling them that Jesus was born. And multitude of angels appeared in the sky and the shepherds decide to go to Jerusalem to worship Jesus. They brought Jesus to Jerusalem. Simeon blessed Jesus. Anna, a prophetess and a widows at the temple, worshipped Jesus. Mary, Joseph, and Jesus return to Nazareth. They go to Jerusalem every year. Jesus stayed behind without his parents knowing. When they returned to Jerusalem to nd Jesus they found him sitting with teachers. Everyone was amazed by Jesus. Jesus increased in wisdom. 3 The word of God came to John in the wilderness. John went into the region around Jordon proclaimed baptism and how the people need to repent.People wonder if he is Christ but he says he baptizes with water and a mightier is coming (Jesus). Herodias locks him in prison. When Jesus was baptized the heavens were opened and the spirit descended on him. 4 Jesus was led into the wilderness for forty days and was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during this time. 1st Temptation- The devil said to him if he was the Son of God he should turn a stone to bread. And Jesus responded with scripture saying man shouldn’t live on bread alone. 2nd Temptation- The devil takes Jesus up and shows him all the kingdoms saying he will give Jesus all this if he worships him. And Jesus responded with scripture saying you shall only worship God and only serve him. 3rd Temptation- The devil set Jesus at the top of the temple saying to Jesus to throw himself down and let his angels catch him. And Jesus responded with Scripture saying you shouldn’t put God to test. Jesus then went on and when teaching in the synagogues. He went back to Nazareth and to the synagogue on the Sabbath. He stood to read and read from Isiah prophesying about himself. He proclaimed about himself and everyone was mad. They rose up to drive him out and to a hill to throw him off. But in the midst of this he disappeared. Jesus then heals a man with a demon. He went to Simon’s house and his mother in law was sick. He healed her from her sickness. He healed all the sick snd the demon possessed. Jesus leaves to preach to different people. 5 Jesus saw two boats and sherman cleaning their nets. Jesus got into Simon’s boat and taught to the people from there. Simon’s nets were lled with sh. Jesus tells the sher man they will now be shers of men. A man with leprosy came to Jesus wanting to be healed. Jesus touched the leper and he was healed. Jesus went away to pray alone. Jesus was teaching and some men brought a paralyzed man to them. They lowered him from the roof into the crowd. Jesus heals the man and he got up and carried his bed. Jesus read the Pharisees thoughts. Jesus saw Levi, a tax collector, and told him to follow him. Jesus talks about fasting. 6 The disciples picked food on the Sabbath and the Pharisees noticed. Jesus claims that he is the lord of the sabbath. Jesus went to a mountain and prayed. He chose the twelve apostles. Jesus healed many people. Jesus states the beatitudes. Jesus tells us to love everyone even our enemies. Jesus gives examples of loving others. 7 A centurion came to Jesus asking to heal his servant. Jesus came with him. The centurion shows faith in Jesus and Jesus heals his servant. Jesus sees a widow weeping for her son who died. Jesus heals the son and raised him from the dead. Disciples of John the Baptist asked if Jesus was Messiah or not. Jesus told them to tell John all that Jesus had done so far. Simon, a Pharisee, asked Jesus to eat a meal with him. A sinful women approached Jesus and wiped his feet with her tears and hair. Jesus corrected Simon for thinking he wasn’t a prophet. Jesus forgave the women. Jesus preaches everywhere. His disciples and ladies followed him. Jesus taught about a parable using a sower spreading a 8seed in his eld. The seed fell on typed of soil: hard, stimulating thorny, and good. Jesus says the seeds represent people. Jesus’ brother and mother visit him. Jesus and his disciples were traveling across the sea when a storm came. The disciple wee scared but Jesus calmed the storm. Jesus met a demon possessed man. Jesus made the demon leave and it went into pigs and caused them to drown. The people asked Jesus to leave their country. Jesus tells the man to tell everyone about him. Jairo’s asked Jesus to heal his daughter. A women touched Jesu in hopes of getting healed. Jesus asks who touched him and the women says it was her and her faith healed her. A man tells Jairus his daughter is dead. But Jesus entered his house and healed her. 9 Jesus tells his disciples to proclaim the kingdom of ahold and heal people. They shouldn’t take their possessions on their journey. Herod is confused and rumors go by that John was raised from the dead. Jesus feeds ve thousand with ve loaves of bread and two sh. Jesus predicts his suffering and death. Jesus is trans gured before Peter, James, and John, and Moses and Elijah appear. A voice con rms Jesus’s identity. Jesu heals a boy that is demon possessed. Disciples argue among them about who is the greatest. 0 Jesus sends out his disciples. The disciples return rejoicing on their missions. Jesus talks about the Good Samaritan. Jesus visits Martha and Mary. Martha complained about Mary not working but only sitting and listening to Jesus. Jesus says the Lord’s Prayer and teaches about prayer.
