THANK YOU! Robin Hood is a legendary character known for stealing rich people's money to give to the poor. In your opinion, were Robin Hood's actions morally good or bad? It was good that Robin Hood wanted to help the poor. However, stealing something that is not yours is wrong in almost every situation. In many of the Robin Hood stories, the poor people are being mistreated in society. This mistreatment is morally wrong. This fact, however, does not mean that it is now okay for Robin Hood to rob from the rich. GRADE 12 ` PRAYER 1. Hands on your lap. GRADE 12 2. Feet flat on the ` floor. 3. Gently close your eyes. 4. Sin against SELF OTHERS GOD Two Basic Types of Sin Sin of Commission- doing what we should not do Sin of Omission- not doing what we should do The Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) PARABLE -is a brief story, proverb or saying that expresses a moral. - All parables express religious ideas, and the Bible include such many stories The Parable of the Prodigal Son Younger Son -at first, ungrateful to the generosity of the Father, selfish; rebellious; adventurous and ambitious. Younger Son - later he is remorseful, asks forgiveness, and ready to amend his life. Elder Son appears to be loyal, obedient and faithful son, but resentful, rejects the joy and reconciliation offered by the father (superficial) Elder Son full of self-righteousness and pride; failed to love his brother; full of anger and envy; refuses to forgive; fails to honor his father; manifests a critical and judgmental spirit; served with wrong motive or selfish interest; never says he is sorry. Father - respectful, loving, caring, merciful, forgiving, “suffers with” (compassion) his children and is eager to bring them back. The Parable of the Compassionate Father Repentance -reconciles us with God. “I will get up and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against God and before you. I no longer deserve to be called your son. Treat me then as one of your hired servants” Luke 15:17-19 When we repent, we reject everything that will offend God and others, and thus we are restored to our former dignity as children of God. We rebuild what was broken.. God who is always a loving and forgiving Father, would reply, “We shall celebrate and have a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has come back to life. He was lost and is found.” (Lk 23:24) Reflective Guide Questions ⚫ What are the qualities of the father that you find in the Parable of the Prodigal Son? ⚫ What qualities of the father in the Parable do you like? ⚫ Can you recall instances in your life when you experienced those qualities from the people dear to you (parents, relatives, friends, neighbors, etc)? NO TIME NO TIME NO TIME I knelt to pray but not for long I had too much to do; Must hurry off and get to work For bills would soon be due. And so I said a hurried prayer, Jumped up from off my knees; My Christian duty now is done My soul could be at ease. NO TIME NO TIME NO TIME All through the day I had no time To speak a word of cheer; No time to speak of Christ to friends, They’d laugh at me I feared. No time. No time. Too much to do. That was my constant cry; No time to give to those in need At last, ‘twas time to die. NO TIME NO TIME NO TIME And when before the Lord I came, I stood with downcast eyes; Within His hands He held a Book It was the Book of Life. He looked into the Book and said, “Your name I cannot find; I once was going to write it down But never found the time.”
