Introduction to Sociology, Anthropology, and Psychology Learning Goals Identify a definition, essential questions, and examples for each of the SAP topics. Identify the types of questions that a psychologist, anthropologist, or sociologist would ask. Identify the ways in which psychology, sociology, and anthropology are similar and different. Psychology Definition: Psychology is the scientific study of human behaviour and mental phenomena. Essential Question: How does our personality influence our behaviour? Examples of research topics: - Depression - Self esteem - Eating disorders - Etc. Psychology Sample Questions Cognitive Psychology 1. How do cognitive processes like memory, perception, and problem-solving develop over time? 2. What are the underlying mechanisms of attention and how do they influence behavior? 3. How do cognitive biases affect decision-making and judgment? Developmental Psychology 1. What are the stages of cognitive and emotional development in children? 2.
