Media What many people perceive as “media” (i.e television, radio, and newspaper) are actually referred to as “mass media”, a type of media used to reach a large audience. Media have become a powerful source of information, being able to present all kinds of messages on every topic. Since you can’t avoid the flood of information from mass media, processing these information then boils down to two choices: 1. Passively accept all the information or 2. Actively accept this information and filter what is useful and disregard what are not. ACTIVITY In a ½ sheet of paper, try to recall a major miscommunication or misunderstanding that you were involved in and its consequences. Describe such situation.
