Intentional Injuries refers to injuriesresulting from purposeful human action, whether directed at oneself or others. are injuries resulting from violence. 1.Self Inflicted when a person harms himself/herself on purpose 2. Suicide the intentional taking of one's own life 3. Parasuicide a suicideattempt in which a person does not intend to die. It is often a cry for help, meaning the person wants others to know what she/he is feeling. 4. Illegal Fraternity-Related Violence  it is a groupof people with similar backgrounds, occupations, interests, or tastes. and since most fraternities are based in colleges and universities. Major risk factors for intentional injuries from interpersonal or self-inflicted violence include:  Access to firearms,  History of interpersonal violence,  Alcohol abuse,  Mental illness, and  Poverty TYPES OF INJURIES 2. Fracture A break or crack in a bone Fractures commonly happen because of car accidents, falls, or sports injuries.  Types of Fractures 1. Transverse Fracture Transverse fractures are breaks that are in a straight line across the bone. 2. Spiral Fracture As the name suggests, this is a kind of fracture that spirals around the bone. 3. Greenstick Fracture This is a partial fracture that occurs mostly in children. The bone bends and breaks but does not separate into two separate pieces. 4. Stress Fracture Stress fractures are also called hairline fractures. Stressfractures are often caused by repetitive motions such as running. 5. Compression Fracture When bones are crushed it is called a compression fracture. Compression fractures occur most often in the spine and can cause your vertebrae to collapse 6. Oblique Fracture An oblique fracture is when the break is diagonal across the bone. This kind of fracture occurs most often in long bones. 7. Impacted Fracture An impacted fracture occurs when the broken ends of the bone are driven together. 8.
