State one clinical investigation you would consider to determine if the symptom was due to abscess or not 2. Justify the clinical investigation you have chosen Example: Clinical investigation: Intra-oral examination of periodontium for swelling and/or sinus Justification: If symptom was due to abscess, swelling and/or sinus will be present next to the tooth or close to the region. However, the absence of swelling and/or sinus does not rule it out if the abscess formation process was early onset. 5
