TABLE OF SPECIFICATIONS (TOS) PRESENTED BY: QUEEN EDJANE F. INONSAON OBJECTIVES: AT THE END OF THE LESSON, STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO: Analyze the role of a Table of Specifications in ensuring alignment between assessment items and course objectives. Construct a basic Table of Specifications that organizes topics and aligns with intended learning outcomes. Value the importance of a Table of Specifications in promoting fairness and transparency in assessments. WHAT IS TABLE OF SPECIFICATIONS? Table specification also known as test blueprint Is a tool used to ensure that a test or assessment measures. A two-way chart which describes the topics to be covered in a test and the number of items and points which associated with each topic. WHAT ARE THE PURPOSE OF TABLE OF SPECIFICATIONS? Help teachers with test construction decisions. Effectiveness of teachers teaching. Improves the validity of teacher made tests. To ensure alignment between the items or elements of an assessment and the content, skills, or constructs that the assessment intends to assess. HELPING IN GIVING BUILDING A STUDENTS SELF- BALANCED CONFIDENCE TEST ABOUT THE JUSTICE OF THE TEST WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ACHIEVE THE TABLE OF RELIABILITY AND SPECIFICATIONS? GIVE TRUE VALIDITY OF THE WEIGHT TEST FOR EACH LESSON WHAT ARE THE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE CONSTRUCTING A TOS? 1. The TOS requires a thorough knowledge of Blooms' Revised Taxonomy. 2. Create a TOS following the standard format. 3. The TOS requires some simple mathematical computation that will result to proportional allocation of test items per topic. text. Bloom’s Taxonomy - It is a classification of thinking categorized by levels of complexity. HOW TO CONSTRUCT A TABLE OF SPECIFICATION? 1. Secure a copy of K to 12 Curriculum Guide. 2. Copy the Learning Competencies allotted for each grading period in the TOS. 3. Allocate the number of hours needed in each learning objectives and the percentage using the formula: NO. OF HOURS IN EACH OBJECTIVES X 100 %= TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS HOW TO CONSTRUCT A TABLE OF SPECIFICATION? 4. Determine the number of item using the formula: No. Of items = Total number of items x % 5. Mark the learning competencies/test questions appropriate for the verbs in each level of ability. 6. After marking, allocate the number of test items for each topic in each classification of objectives. Follow the 60,30,10% format of the TOS. HOW TO CONSTRUCT A TABLE OF SPECIFICATION? 7. Put the total below each row. 8. Placement of test items will be determined when the test paper was finished. CONCLUSION The Table of Specifications helps teachers create tests that are fair and measure what students have really learned. It ensures that all important topics are included and that questions range from basic facts to more complex thinking skills. This makes the test fairer for students and ensures that their results reflect their true 10 understanding. QUESTIONS? 10 THANK YOU
