ICFReviewer HISTORY OF POWERPOINT PRESENTATION A collection of electronic slides for delivering information POWERPOINT A Presentation Program owned by Microsoft Corporation Originally developed by Bob Gaskins In 1984, Gaskins Joined Forethought and hired Dennis Austin The Prototype was called Presenter but changed to Powerpoint Powerpoint 1.0 Was released in 1987 For the Apple Macintosh In 1987, Forethought and Powerpoint was purchased by Microsoft Corporation for $14 Millions In 1988, The first windows and DOS versions were produced Since 1980, Powerpoint has been a standard part of the Microsoft Office The 2002 Version, it was part of the Office XP Proffesional Suite VERSION HISTORY POWERPOINT INTERFACE File Menu and Backstage View - Contains all Creation, Save, Share and Print Options for your Presentation Quick Access Toolbar - A customizable toolbar placed by default above the Ribbon Ribbon - Contain Groups of Buttons for Various Options Slides Pane - Shows thumbnails of all the slides in the open presentation Slide Area - Displays Active Slide Task Pane - Contains more options and appears when you choose an option in one the ribbon tabs Status Bar - Provides information about the presentation Notes Pane - Where the speaker notes are written of the current slide View Buttons - Divided into 3 Buttons: Normal - Normal View Slide Sorter - Displays zoom-able thumbnails of every slide in the presentation Reading View - Switches from other views to Reading View Slide Show - The presentation as a full screen slideshow from the current selected slide Mini Toolbar - A semi transparent floating toolbar that spawns right next to selected text POWERPOINT HOME TAB Home Tab - The first tab of the ribbon which contains the basic formatting tools Groups of Home Tab -Clipboard -Slides -Font -Paragraph -Drawing -Editing CLIPBOARD PASTE (CTRL+V) - Pastes text, links or pictures CUT (CTRL+X) - Removes a selection and put it on the clipboard COPY (CTRL C) - Imitates or clones text, links or pictures FORMAT PAINTER (CTRL+SHIFT+C) - Applies a formatting of a certain selection of a certain selection to other content or document POWERPOINT HOME TAB SLIDES New Slide (CTRL+M) - Adds a new blank slide Layout - You can make your own layout Reset - Returns the default design of your slide Section - Divides the layout of a slide FONT FONT STYLE - You can get a wide selection of fonts FONT SIZE BOLD (CRTL+B) - Used to emphasize a word or sentence ITALIC (CTRL+I) - Used to emphasize a word or sentence UNDERLINE (CTRL+U) - Used to emphasize a word or sentence FONT COLOR - Adds design or emphasis to a word INCREASE FONT SIZE (CTRL+SHIFT+>) DECREASE FONT SIZE (CTRL+SHIFT+
