I'm making this study guide in order to help you guys out. I know you guys are busy studying for other courses, so I will do my best to assist. **[YOU MAY SHARE WITH OTHERS!!!]** [Mr Reid emailed me that I could share my study guide with you all (7th block), but he will not be posting this on his Google Classroom. ] **["It is at their risk to use it, I (Mr. Reid) have not certified the contents."]** Other Stuff to Use for Review ============================= Use the Antebellum timeline Mr. Reid gave us. It helps you sort out key events during the Antebellum period and I personally think it is a more efficient and quick way to study other than only utilizing past notes and presentations for review. My Antebellum Timeline as shown above. It helps me to quickly recall information about key events. Behind the sticky note I wrote what the Tariff of 1828 was about. Search up other timelines as well. I got this one from the "Ordeal By Fire" textbook I found online. However, you'll have to make an account in order to access this, and I think there are limited borrows. ![](media/image1.png) Website Link: [[Ordeal by fire : the Civil War and Reconstruction : McPherson, James M : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive]](https://archive.org/details/ordealbyfirecivi0000mcph_p7s5/page/158/mode/2up) Mr. Reid's Timeline Events: =========================== - **Hartford Convention (1814)** ------------------------------ - - - - - - - - **Missouri Compromise (1820)** ------------------------------ - **Denmark Vesey Rebellion (1822)** ---------------------------------- - - - - - **James Forten Pamphlet (1813)** -------------------------------- - - - **Tariff of 1828** ------------------ - - - - **Nat Turner's Rebellion (1831)** --------------------------------- - - - - **Nullification Crisis (1832-1833)** ------------------------------------ - - - - - - - **George Latimer Affair (1842)** -------------------------------- - - - - - **Wilmot Proviso (1846)** ------------------------- - - - **Texas Annexation Debate** --------------------------- - - - - **Mexican-American War (1846-1848)** ------------------------------------ - - - - - **Compromise of 1850** ---------------------- - - - **Fugitive Slave Act** ---------------------- - - - **Kansas Nebraska Act (1854)** ------------------------------ - **Ostend Manifesto (1854)** --------------------------- - **Sumner brooks affair** ------------------------ - **Dred Scott v. The battle would've been worse if they took part, that's for sure. Britain in the end decided to declare themselves **[neutral]** because they were already dealing with their own issues, and events such as the **[cotton embargo by the Confederacy]** and the **[Trent affair]** only made them not want to help out either the Confederacy or the Union more. **The Confederacy wanted Britain's help more than the Union, and in the end, Lee's loss at Antietam and his failed invasion of Maryland made Britain decide not to help out the Confederacy.** **The cotton embargo** ---------------------- - - - **The Trent affair** -------------------- - - - - 🗒️ Misc Info - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 🏃 Past Reading Checks Past Reading Checks **CH 2 Antebellum South** ========================= 1. 35% 2.
