We are all tourists from heart and soul and the hospitality and tourism industry has made sure that our travel is easy, fun, cost-effective and safe. What is Tourism? Tourism is generally the act of travelling to another environment, for at least 24 hours, but for no longer than one year, for purposes related to business or leisure. The Tourism Industry is concerned with people travelling for business or pleasure purposes, staying in their destination for at least one night, and then returning. The Travel Industry has a wider scope, covering more travel purposes and durations. What is Hospitality? Hospitality is kindness in welcoming visitors, guests or strangers. It refers to the relationship between guest and the host, or the practice or act of being hospitable. Particularly, this involves the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of visitors, guests, strangers, membership clubs, resorts, conventions, special events, attractions, and other services for tourists and travelers. What is Hospitality? In hospitality industry, there classify many departments – those are, housekeeping, front desk, food/ beverage, engineering, health/ sports, safety/ security. Workforce designated to each of those departments would be required of specific traits, capability and training. Tourism, Hospitality and Hotel Management: What's The Difference? Tourism Management refers to the activities associated with travel planning. Hospitality Management is the administration of activities in a place where people meet, such as a restaurant, casino, convention centres, theme park or shopping mall. Hotel Management involves managing operations in a hotel or resort. Hospitality and Tourism do go hand-in-hand, but they are different two branches of study for good reason. Tourism entails the movement of people to places outside their usual environment. Hospitality entails the comfort and wellbeing of guests at a variety of events and establishments.
