**General Administrative Guideline** ------------------------------------------- -------------------------- ------------- Subject: JURY SERVICE LEAVE Effective Date: 6/1/17 GAG: 1-13 Applies to: ALL FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL Supersedes: 8/1/99 Page 1 of 1 Responsible Committee: Human Resources Next Review Date: 6/1/19 ------------------------------------------- -------------------------- ------------- **PURPOSE:** To establish procedures for jury duty. These procedures shall be consistent with the existing language of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and IAFF Local 42, the Administrative Code of the City of Kansas City, Missouri and other pertinent statues, ordinances, directives and regulations. **SCOPE:** These guidelines shall apply to all members of the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department. **Guidelines:** Members retained in a jury pool or impaneled as a jury member, who are expected to return for jury service the following day or who actually serve as a jury member, will not be required to return to work on the day of service, unless they are released from service prior to 2:00 p.m. Members who are summoned, but not selected, for jury service on a scheduled work day shall return promptly to their assigned duty station and notify the Battalion Chief or Division Head of their return. Members will be paid full wages providing they sign over to the City the compensation, excluding mileage, which may be received as a result of being a juror.
