Please READ TO UNDERSTAND. *Improvement in family relations – one of the reasons behind for usage of drugs *R.A. 9165 – Act instituting the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. *Drug user – other term for "drug addict". *One of the unusual behaviors of a Drug Abuse is having bloodshot eyes. *Inhalants – class of drug which are volatile substance derived from ether or chloroform. *Head to toe – During initial assessment, physical examination is done from: *Good chance of survival if CPR is started within four (4) minutes. *Victim Assessment – a systematic approach where the first aider can find out what is wrong and how serious before initially and deciding in providing first aid. *First Aid – the immediate care given to an injured or suddenly ill person. *CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation *Pacific Ring of Fire – the area where the Philippine Sea and Eurasian Tectonic Plates meet and is prone to occurrences of earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions. *Glowing avalanche - This is the most dangerous type of eruption when freshly erupted magma flows down the sides of a volcano. *Storms – this disaster generally happens in bad weather and is accompanied by strong winds, thunder, lightning, and heavy precipitation like ice. *Super Typhoon – The PAG-ASA developed this kind of intensity scale classification because of Typhoon Yolanda. *Typhoon Hagupit – This typhoon, locally known as Typhoon "Ruby," entered the Philippines on 4 December 2014 at 4:00 AM with maximum winds of 175kph and gustiness of 210kph and is moving West Northwest at 25kph. *Typhoon Mangkhut – This typhoon, locally known as Typhoon Ompong, entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on 12 September 2018 and made landfall in Baggao, Cagayan, on 15 September 2018. The typhoon caused widespread damage across Northern and Central Luzon due to its intense nature and large size (approximately 900km). *Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Recovery and Rehabilitation, Disaster Response - the four distinct priority areas that correspond to the structure of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Managemnt Council (NDRRMC) *Disaster Response – priority area that aims to provide life preservation and meet the basic needs of the affected population during or after the disasters? *Study and understand prevention and mitigation. *Study and understand DRRM Four Thematic Areas *NSRC - created under section 11of RA 9163 of the NSTP Act of 2001, composed of graduates of the non-ROTC components: CWTS and LTS. *LTS - learning component which is designed to train students in teaching literacy and numeracy skills to school children and out-of-school youths. The hope is to continue learning on a peer-to- peer interaction. *Commonwealth Act No. 1 is also known as National Defense Act of 1935. *National Defense Act of 1935 – law enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines on December 21, 1935 and was provided for obligatory military service for all male citizens of ages between 18 and 30. *Republic Act 7077 – law enacted by the 8th Congress of the Philippines on June 27, 1991 and is also called "Citizen Armed Forces of the Philippines Reservist Act”. *The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by United Nations on 1948. *Declaration of Human Rights contain 30 articles *Study and understand Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights *Article 20 - the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. *Article 24 – the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay *The sun with eight rays in the Philippine flag represents the first eight provinces that revolt against Spaniards. *The first flag was sewn in Hongkong. *The flag may be flown at half-mast as a sign of mourning. *Study and understand the locations where the Philippine flag must be permanently hoisted and illuminated at night *RA 8491 - The Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines. *The flag should be displayed in all government buildings, official residence, public plazas, and schools every day throughout the year. *Independence Day – designated as flag day? *National Flag Day is celebrated every 28th day of May? *Study and understand where the flag cannot be used *A citizen is a person having the title of citizenship. *A citizen is a member of a democratic community who enjoys a full civil and political rights and its accorded protection inside and outside the territory of the State. *The greatest ideal in the life of every citizen must be patriotism or love of country. *Every right has a corresponding responsibility. *Citizenship is a term denoting membership of a citizen in a political society, which membership implies, reciprocally, a duty of allegiance on the part member and duty of protection on the part of the State. *Disaster management is very important to survive in the case of a natural or a major human- induced disaster. *The role of the youth or the students in disaster preparedness and management are very important in their respective school and community. *Disaster management can spread awareness to all about the precautions to be taken at times of disasters. *Disaster management can help to minimize the potential risks by developing early warning measures. *Students could create pamphlets and fliers that spell out proper emergency procedures and why they should be followed. *Youths could also set up information booths during lunchtime to answer questions about crisis management and provide further information about their program. *Students are often the best source of information for other students. *The basic role of the student is awareness of what to do before, during, and after disasters. *Developing early warning measures helps to prepare and implement developmental plans to provide flexibility to such disasters and also to mobilize activities including communication and medical services. *The student disaster management team can put together information to pass on to other students and create posters to hang in the school hallways reminding students of rules and emergency exits. *Study and understand Environmental education *Study and understand the classifications of Pollution *Air Pollution - this problem has become a worldwide phenomenon. *Study and understand the ways to dispose solid wastes *Reduce - it means reasonably limit or conserve the use of materials for more important projects. *School-community - they can spend as much money disposing its trash as it does on buying textbooks. *Core messages - another term for seven (7) environmental principles (EPs). * P.E.A.C.E. means Public Education and Awareness Campaign for the Environment *Nature knows best - this principle is the most basic and encompasses all the others. *Homeostasis - phenomenon that maintains the balance of nature. *Those who are 18 years old and above on the day of elections are qualified to vote in Philippine elections * Persons who committed rebellion, sedition, violation of the anti-subversion and firearms law, or any crime against national security or disloyalty to the government are disqualified by law to vote in Philippine elections *The actions point for citizen-voters in exercising the right of suffrage before elections are set specific guidelines in choosing government leaders in terms of the candidate’s social affiliations and interests, competence, lifestyle, and performance records and conduct/participate in public debates that would inform citizens and gain the commitment of the candidates to integrate, foremost, the interests and welfare of the citizen in their program of government. *The National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) defines national security as “the state or condition wherein the people’s way of life and being are protected and/or advanced.” In addition, it is the primary concern of the state to ensure the welfare and well-being of every Filipino *Study and understand the functions of National Security Council *Study and understand the different types of security threats *One of the roles of schools in promoting peace for national security is disarmament education, discourage parent from buying war toys. *Some of the functions of national Security Council in Internal Threats are: (1) Organized crime is a national security concern. The challenge of illegal drugs, in particular, has grown into major threat to the national community. (2) Grave incidence of poverty is also a serious threat to national security which breeds and abets rebellion, crime, and dissidence. *Some of the functions of national Security Council in External Threats include ethnics, religious and cultural conflicts pervade many regions and nations, including in the country and transnational organized crime has proliferated in the era of globalization. *Section 10 of RA 10121 provides for the creation of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC), formerly known as the Regional Disaster Coordinating Council (RDCC) *There are 25 functions, duties, and responsibilities are the local government units the first line of defense in every disaster or emergency does the LDRRMO have *30 percent shall be allocated as Quick Response Fund (QRF) or stand-by fund for relief and recovery programs in order that situation and living conditions of people in communities or areas stricken by disasters, calamities, epidemics, or complex emergencies, may be normalized as quickly as possible? *The President approves the specific amount of the NDRRM Fund and the appropriate recipient agencies and/or LGUs in accordance with the favorable recommendation of the NDRRMC *After 5 years before any amount from the fund of LDRRMF will revert back to the general fund and will be available for other social services to be identified by the local sanggunian when not fully utilized? *Section 22 of RA 10121, the present Calamity Fund appropriated under the annual General Appropriations Act shall henceforth be known as National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund * Nineteen Billion Six Hundred Million Pesos (P19.6 B) – total budget of the NDRRMF? *There are five climates. The Philippines is characterized by relatively high temperatures, high humidity, and abundant rainfall.
