EXECUTIVE BRANCH- THE MANY ROLES OF THE PRESIDENT BACKGROUND ◼ The framers of the Constitution created the Executive branch to carry out laws passed by Congress. ◼ They wanted to give the President enough power but not too much power in order to avoid a dictatorship, monarchy, etc. ◼ The framers limited the power of President by requiring most power to be shared with members of congress.
