DIGNITY a state or quality of being worthy of honor or Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of Needs Universal Values The phrase “value” refers to something that a person or community considers is valuable enough to be pursued, promoted or favoured. This can be a physical object (money, food, art), or a mental state (peace, security, certainty), or a behavior resulting from such objects or mental states Universal Values Universal, however is an adjective that is related to what belongs or which relates to the universe. The concept refers to the set of all things created and what is common to all its kind. Universal human values are those ideals that we believe should be priviledged and promoted in the lives of all human beings in spite of the differing cultures and societies where we grew up. Rachels (2018) points out that there are some moral rules that all societies must embrace because these rules are necessary for society to exist.
