# Eating Meat is No Worse than Veggies - **Recently, several organizations who are trying to combat climate change have tried to blame environmental problems on livestock.** Specifically, they say that livestock raised for people to eat are causing global warming. This couldn't be further from the truth. - **For one thing, the data these organizations are using is flawed.** The data was originally developed to help farms become friendlier towards the environment. However, it was not developed to argue against eating meat. - **It's also important to note that many other foods have an impact on the environment.** One study even shows that eating fruits and vegetables increases greenhouse emissions more than eating meat does. Of course, no one is proposing that we eat fewer vegetables! - **Greenhouse gases come from other sources too.** - **So, before you blame meat, maybe we're asking the wrong question.** Perhaps we should ask what other ways we could help the environment.
