# D. PAGPAPALALIM ## Ugnayan sa Diyos at pagmamahal sa kapuwa - Have you ever experienced love? If you have, how did you feel? Were you happy or did you feel differently? It's like you don't notice the passage of time because your world revolves around it. - Love builds a beautiful and deep relationship with the person you love. In this relationship, two people have the opportunity to talk, meet, and get to know each other. It starts with a simple exchange of conversation and can deepen if their relationship continues. The relationship becomes more beautiful and meaningful if it includes love. - Now I invite you to stop for a moment and ask yourself: How do you interact with the people around you or with your neighbor? - From love, a person shares himself with others. He shows his being a fellow man. When a person is able to do this, he reflects his love for God because he shares his whole being, talent, wealth, and time completely and unconditionally. This is what will give meaning to his life. This is also what will answer the reason for his existence in this world. ## Paghahanap ng kahulugan ng buhay - Have you ever asked yourself the meaning of life for you? Life can be considered a journey. In this journey, a person needs someone to accompany him to make his journey lighter. - First, journey with your fellow man and second, journey with God. But remember, not all the time will the journey be smooth, there may be many times when you stumble, get lost, have difficulty, or get hurt; but what is important is not to give up or stay away from your companions. Whatever difficulties or obstacles you may encounter along the way, it is important to face them with determination to reach your destination. ### Tanong: - Are you wandering or traveling in your life? ## Espiritwalidad at Pananampalataya: Daan sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa Diyos at Kapuwa - Man is the most special of all creation because God gave him not only a body, but also endowed him with a spirit that makes him unique and makes him a likeness to God. But what makes a person human is his spirit, where the persona is located. Persona, according to Scheler, is the "self" of each person that makes him unique. - So, a person's spirituality comes from his being. It deepens even more if he lives his being the image of God and how he loves his neighbor. So, the true essence of spirituality is having a good relationship with one's neighbor and responding to God's call with peace and serenity in one's heart. - Spirituality takes on meaning when the spirit of man is reflected in the depths of his life with — his actions, feelings, and thoughts. So, whatever a person's religion, spirituality is the pinnacle. ## Pananampalatayang Kristiyanismo - It teaches the living example of hope, love, and faith shown by Jesus Christ. Some of its important teachings are as follows: - God is in all of us at every moment of our lives. It means that God is with man at every moment of his life. - Accept the will of God with ease and natural obedience. This acceptance comes from having trust in God at all times and occasions. Always ask for God's blessing to be able to do good. - Love each other and be forgiving of each other. Be humble and dedicate yourselves to helping your neighbor. ## Pananampalatayang Islam - It was founded by Mohammed, an Arab. The sacred teachings of Islam are found in the Quran, the Holy Scripture of the Muslims. For every Muslim, his faith is active all day long and the time of his life while he is alive. This is because of the Five Pillars of Islam, which must be fulfilled. Because of this, the Muslim's faith is always alive to carry out these five pillars. These are the following: - The Shahadatain (The Declaration of True Worship). According to Muslims, there is no other God worthy of worship but Allah and Muhammad as His Messenger. This means worshipping the one God and not giving or associating His oneness. - The Salah (Prayer). In Islam, living is a balanced thing in terms of body and spirit. They have five fixed prayers a day. This is a way for them to stay away from temptation and sin. - The Sawm (Fasting). It is the obligation of every Muslim who is of age and physically fit to fast during the month of Ramadan. Fasting for them is a matter of self-discipline to resist temptations that may come into life. - The Zakah (Prescribed Annual Charity). Zakah is not only voluntary giving to those in need but an obligation prescribed by Allah. This is not only intended to help one's neighbor but to cleanse one's earnings or livelihood to share with their fellow Muslims. - The Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mecca). Every Muslim, male and female, who is of age and ## Pananampalatayang Buddhismo - According to Buddhism, human suffering is rooted in his desires. Desire leads to greed, intense anger towards one's neighbor, and excessive attachment to material things. This is the core teaching of Sidhartha Gautama or the Buddha, a great preacher of Buddhism. Gautama is recognized by the Buddhists as an enlightened one. - There are four truths that Sidhartha Gautama, the Buddha (meaning "The Enlightened One"), was enlightened about: - Life is dukha (poverty, suffering). - Poverty is the result of desire ('taha'). - Desire can be cured. - The cure is in the eightfold path & Fold Path) — right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration. He shared his knowledge to help sentient beings end suffering by eliminating ignorance, through understanding and seeing the interdependent origin and eliminating desire to achieve the highest happiness, nirvana. ## Pananampalataya - The song expresses the belief and trust of a person in God even if he has not seen him yet. - In faith, a person dedicates his belief and trust to God. He admits his limitations and weaknesses, believing that whatever he lacks will be filled by God. Faith, like love, must be shown in action. This is putting into practice what a person believes in. - So, faith cannot grow if it is not lived out for the sake of one's neighbor. A person expresses his faith in God through the actual living out of it. As the Apostle James says in the New Testament, "Faith without works is dead" (James 2:20). This means that a person's good deeds and actions are the solid evidence of his faith. - You, how is your faith? - Is it a living faith? How? ## Pagmamahal - A person only loves God if he loves his neighbor. - We have what we call Four Kinds of Love according to C.S. Lewis. - Affection - This is love as siblings, especially in families, or people who have gotten to know each other and have become close or comfortable with each other. - Philia - This is love as friends. They have a common goal or purpose, in which they are connected. - Eros - This is love based on desire only. Whatever brings pleasure to a person's own self. For example, you love a person because he/she is beautiful. This refers to a person's physical desires. - Agape - This is the highest kind of love. This is love that has no strings attached. It is how God loves man. He continues to love even though we make mistakes and continue to be wrong, He continues to love because man is important to Him. - So, everyone is invited to imitate God. Let's try to love our neighbor because this is the sign of our love for God who created us.
